Therese Rossdale

Tuesdays 3pm-6pm

What days are you usually scheduled to present?

Tuesday afternoons.

How did you first connect with GDR?

As a child I loved the old movies and musicals that we watched on TV and came to know all the words of many of the songs.
When I was a teen, a friend’s mother introduced me to big bands, swing, jazz numbers and the old crooners of the 30s, 40s and 50s.
I loved all the music and also developed a love for opera, soul music, R&B, and classic jazz, so my tastes are very eclectic.
When I first heard GDR , it suited my tastes perfectly.

Why did you want to be a Presenter?.

I worked on Reception at GDR for many years and came to know and love our many listeners.
It seemed a natural progression to move on to being a presenter so that I could share some more of our marvellous music with our listeners.
GDR provides a niche selection of music that is difficult to find elsewhere.

What do you believe you can achieve for the listeners?.

I hope the music that I play will evoke wonderful memories and will bring happiness and light to our listeners.
My theme music is ‘The Sunny Side of the Street’ and I hope that, in an emotional sense, it will bring sunshine to our listeners lives and really help them leave “their worries on the doorstep “.
