Presenter - Geoff Phillips
1. What time is your time slot and what does your session consist of? (segments, types of music, serials etc)
Geoff’s program, “Nice and Easy” goes to air each Thursday at 11 am, featuring the world’s most beautiful music.
His music covers a wide range within the easy listening genre, from the late 1920s to 1960s and beyond, providing it ‘fits’ and is ‘melodic’. The best artists, duos, groups, bands and orchestras are specially selected and mixed for the utmost enjoyment of our listeners who love Golden Days Radio. At 1-30pm on Thursdays, the “Comedy Half Hour“ segment is presented.
2. How did you first connect with GDR?
Geoff joined “Golden Days Radio” in late 1999, and at the beginning of 2000, ‘went to air’ presenting the very first Monday Breakfast program on the station. He later presented ‘Tuesday Drive’ — 5-8pm, and ‘Friday Breakfast’ — 7-11am, for many years on 95.7 FM. Geoff served on the Management Committee and Program Sub-Committee. He introduced the ‘new look’ Golden Days sound jingle and the Golden Days Radio logo, which is familiar to all.
3. Why did you want to be a presenter?
Geoff retired from “corporate life” and decided to pursue a long held ‘dream’ of radio involvement, as he was always vitally interested in MUSIC, and RADIO as a medium.
4. What experience do you want to give your listeners?
Geoff is thrilled to share his extensive library of “beautiful music that will last forever” with our Golden Days listeners each Thursday at 11am.
