Presenter - Ian Cochrane
1 When is your session and what does your session consist of? (segments, types of music, serials etc)
My program is on Thursday nights 20.00 until 23.00
First Hour is a mixture of music from the ’20s to the ’60s.
Second Hour is contemporary jazz.
Third Hour is light classics.
2 How did you first connect with GDR?
I have been an avid listener since the station first started. In addition, I have enjoyed watching it grow and blossom into the great entity that it is today
3 Why did you want to be a presenter?
Firstly, I wanted to be a part of something new and vital. I enjoy being with like-minded people and fellow music lovers. I remember when Lord Reith opened the BBC nearly a century ago he was asked whether they were going to give the people what they wanted. And he said. No, we are going to give them something much better. I want G.D.R. to follow the same mission.
4 What experience do you want to give your listeners?
There are those songs that people have forgotten that, once reheard, will stimulate memories of places, loved ones and precious times.
We here at Golden Days Radio have the music rescourses and freedom to tap into that music.
My aim is that by connecting to our listeners and to the community I can play music that people can identify with and get special listening pleasure that is not available on other stations.
