Program - Eleven 'til Two with
Mondays 11am – 2pm
During my three hours on-air I present music that has been recorded and performed by a large number and wide range of singers and musicians many of which are standards belonging to the canon of the most influential and popular music of the 20th century.
Most Mondays I have a nostalgic theme, e.g. “Department Stores of YesterYear’ where I seek to engage the radio audience to participate by sharing memories. My program assistant in reception takes listener’s phone calls and their memories are relayed to me in the studio where I acknowledge them on-air. If music to illustrate the theme can be sourced it too becomes an important part of the program mix. The combination of memorable music and listener’s sharing a longing for long-gone moments fits the Golden Days Radio goal of music and memories in perfect harmony. For variety ‘Hot, Sweet & Jazzy’, a 30-minute feature program of eclectic mix of jazz classics follows the midday news.
