  1. What days and times are you usually scheduled to be on duty?

Thursday 7am – 11am

  1. How did you first connect with GDR?

A young 30 year friend of my son recommend the station to me! I liked what I heard and they were advertising for volunteers on the phones at the time. So I was connected that way. It has been six years now

  1. Why did you want to be a Receptionist/Program Assistant?

I have been in a small office all my life and with retirement in mind this was a good way I could continue to connect with people, while helping to serve others.

  1. What are the most important things that you believe you can do for listeners who call in, and for the Presenter you are supporting?

Listening to the callers is the main thing, they have all sorts of reasons for ringing. Most callers support our station fiercely and ring often to give us a cheerio. Some listeners could be housebound, or in a nursing home. This is their way of contacting us and hearing a happy voice at the end of the phone.

The Presenters while on air are fully occupied with the job at hand. I try to provide all the backup help they ask for.
