1. What days and times are you usually scheduled to be on duty?
Fridays 7.00am until 11.00am
2. How did you first connect with GDR?
I heard Golden Days Radio while dial twiddling when driving and I loved it. I then answered an advertisement for Receptionists.
3. Why did you want to be a Receptionist/Program Assistant?
I love music from the ’20’s through to the ’60’s and thought ‘I don’t want the music to stop’, and if nobody volunteers we won’t have GDR anymore.
4. What are the most important things that you believe you can do for listeners who call in, and for the Presenter you are supporting?
Answering phone calls and taking notes so the Presenters know that their work is appreciated. I like to acknowledge the favourite pieces that the listener or caller mentioned and also to listen carefully and have a pleasant conversation with them. GDR fills a special need for many people who live alone. A friendly chat is cheering for many people.
I like to support the Presenter in anyway I can, with a positive and cheerful outlook.
