Phil Dowse

1. What days and times are you usually scheduled to be on duty?

Wednesday from 7.00am until 11.00am.

2. How did you first connect with GDR?

I was dial twiddling at home, then continued listening. When an appeal was made for donations to help set up the premises at Glenhuntly Road I became a donor.

3. Why did you want to be a Receptionist/Program Assistant?

At the formal opening of the premises in Glenhuntly, I was talked into it by Dennis Conway.

4. What are the most important things that you believe you can do for listeners who call in, and for the Presenter you are supporting?

For the Listeners:

I like to present a cheerful and friendly response to their comments and questions, and I need to listen to the program content eg. songs, singers, titles and so on so I can answer any questions easily. There is also quite a bit of administration content that one needs to be up to date with , for example membership and credit card transactions.

For Presenters:

I need to be punctual, provide him with legible and clear listener comments and queries, and assist generally with photocopying and other office requirements.
